Happiness is often found in the simplest moments: a deep breath, a shared smile, movement that energises the body, and a community coming together for a common purpose. This spirit came alive at the recent Happy Streets event, where Namaste Face Yoga had the privilege of contributing to a morning dedicated to health, positivity, and environmental awareness.
Organised by The Times of India, in association with Hotel Saffron Leaf and Sandeep Sir’s Doon Defence Academy, the event transformed ordinary streets into vibrant spaces filled with energy, learning, and meaningful human connection. Held on the occasion of World Environment Day, the initiative encouraged people of all ages to embrace healthier lifestyles while fostering a stronger sense of community responsibility.

A Morning of Movement and Mindfulness
At Namaste Face Yoga, we believe that true beauty and happiness begin from within. During the event, our founder and wellness guide, Charu Wadhwa, conducted interactive wellness sessions that introduced participants to the transformative benefits of face yoga, mindful breathing, and holistic self-care practices.
People from different age groups enthusiastically joined the activities, discovering how simple facial exercises and mindful awareness techniques can help relieve stress, improve emotional well-being, and encourage a deeper connection with oneself.
The sessions served as a gentle reminder that wellness is not about perfection; it is about consistency, self-awareness, and making small choices every day that support our physical, emotional, and mental health.
Wellness Beyond Appearance
Face yoga is often associated with natural beauty and facial rejuvenation, but its benefits extend far beyond aesthetics. It promotes relaxation, improves circulation, reduces tension, enhances confidence, and encourages individuals to slow down and become present in their daily lives.
At Happy Streets, participants experienced firsthand how wellness practices can be both enjoyable and accessible. Through laughter, movement, and collective participation, people realised that taking care of themselves need not be complicated.
In a world that often glorifies being busy, choosing self-care becomes an act of self-respect.
Reclaiming Happiness Through Community
One of the most beautiful aspects of the event was witnessing the power of community. Students, families, fitness enthusiasts, and wellness seekers gathered not merely as attendees but as active participants in creating an atmosphere of encouragement and positivity.
The event featured a variety of activities, including fitness sessions, dance performances, awareness initiatives, and interactive experiences designed to inspire healthier lifestyles. It highlighted an important truth: happiness grows when it is shared.
When communities come together to support well-being, they create environments where individuals feel motivated to make healthier choices and inspire others to do the same.
Celebrating World Environment Day with Purpose
The theme of environmental responsibility added deeper meaning to the celebrations. Just as we nurture our bodies and minds, we must also care for the environment that sustains us.
The Happy Streets initiative encouraged participants to adopt mindful habits—not only towards themselves but also towards society and the planet. Wellness and sustainability go hand in hand. When we become more conscious in our daily lives, we naturally make choices that benefit both our health and our environment.
Gratitude and Recognition
We are deeply honoured that our participation in this meaningful initiative was featured by The Times of India. This recognition belongs not only to Namaste Face Yoga but also to every participant who showed up with enthusiasm, openness, and a willingness to embrace positive change.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Times of India, Hotel Saffron Leaf, Sandeep Sir’s Doon Defence Academy, and everyone who contributed to making the event a memorable success.
